    Open Source and Software Quality Intern

    💼 Our partner is a Budapest-based automotive technology company specialising in automated and autonomous driving solutions. The company is developing a holistic technology suite aimed at accelerating the development and deployment of automated driving systems for automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers. Like all software products, the software developed by our partner relies on third-party open source software libraries.

    👉 Regular monitoring and review of the open source components used in their software ensures that the risks associated with these components do not affect the delivered software, i.e. newly discovered vulnerabilities, changing licensing models or abandoned projects do not pose a risk later in the lifecycle.
    👉 As an Open Source Intern, you will be responsible for ensuring that these risks are monitored and managed in a timely manner, working with all software development teams. With mutual interest and capacity, this position may in the future include the operation and analysis of additional code scanners and the management of various risks related to the software under development

    Tasks:
    🟤 Configure and operate the open source component analysis software for various projects
    🟤 Analyze the results, refine configuration parameters as required
    🟤 Analyze the results from software license, software security, and operational aspects
    🟤 Make recommendations to the software development teams about addressing the identified issues and risks
    🟤 Participate occasional external reviews concerning open source software use
    🟤 Consult with the software vendor about any unusual or unexpected behavior

    Requirements:
    🟦 Ongoing (active/passive) full-time university studies for at least one more year on engineering or IT field 
    🟦 At least 20-25 working hours/week in our Partner`s Budapest office
    🟦 Intermediate level English knowledge 
    🟦 Understand how open source projects are developed, released and distributed
    🟦 Understand different licensing models and what they mean in practice from a software development point of view (such as MIT, GPL, BSD, etc)
    🟦 Ability to compile software projects implemented in C++, Python, Java according to documentation
    🟦 Precise, reliable, quality focused attitude
    🟦 Independent and proactive attitude
    🟦 Ability to tolerate occasional monotony while analyzing results

    ⏰ Working hours: Between 08:00-18:00, Home Office also possible 50-50% after training

    * If you are over 25 years of age, 15% of your gross salary will be deducted from your PIT. If you are under 25 years old, you will be exempt from PIT, so you can consider your gross salary as net, up to the average wage in the national economy, which is HUF 656,785 per month.
